Holterman’s US representatives at Trawlerfest from 27 February
As one of the great get-togethers for trawler-style yacht owners and prospective buyers in the US, Trawlerfest – which this year will be held at Hutchinson Island in Stuart, Florida from Tuesday 27 February to Saturday 2 March – is an unmissable event for powerboaters and sailors looking to hone their skills or to find their next boat. This year’s event will also be special for another reason – Holterman’s US sales representatives Robert and Carla Frost will be in attendance to meet the boating community and to introduce them to Holterman’s exquisite design style and build quality.
“Trawler owners in America are a relatively small subset of buyers, but they are a group we are familiar with having cruised our own trawler-style yacht for the past couple of years,” enthuses Robert Frost. “Trawlers offer those owners the opportunity to live aboard comfortably and to do the GREAT LOOP – a 6,000-mile odyssey that takes in the eastern seaboard, the Great Lakes, the waterways south through the Mid West, and the Gulf and Florida panhandle. Our new Commander 54 being built at Holterman is a perfect fit for that style of cruising.”
Frost says he is keen to talk with trawler owners and to get their thoughts on what Holterman yachts offer – including innovative features such as hydronic underfloor heating – a standard offering for Dutch clients but totally new to the US market. “There are some real technical details – both with design and installation – that are needed to make these type systems work on a boat. Holterman has figured it out because their yachts are built and cruised on the North Sea – very similar conditions to our own Great Lakes and the coastal waters of the northeast,” Additionally, Frost says, “It will be very interesting to talk with owners and prospective buyers to get their thoughts about the rugged, spacious and elegantly modern style of the Holterman series. I am also interested to hear what the trawler community thinks about our steel, displacement hulls and how they rate the exceptional living areas that these boats offer.”
