Refit

Talented inhouse team

While Holterman is well known for its 60 years of history building motoryachts, up to the latest award-winning X-series models, the shipyard also has extensive experience in the refit sector. The shipyard has conducted refit works not only on its own models for Holterman owners, but also on larger motor yacht projects.

Holterman’s low-key and unassuming refit division belies the expertise that lies within the team. Their experience and backgrounds in both sail and power yachts allows them to take on complex and demanding projects, applying the shipyard’s trademark straightforward approach to ensure a top-quality outcome with maximum efficiency for owners, captains, owner’s representatives and crew.

Drawing on a talented inhouse team of engineers, carpenters, craftsmen and project managers, and leveraging strong relationships with key subcontractors, Holterman applies a minimal management approach to its refit projects ensuring straight-line communication between the owner’s and the shipyard’s teams. Detailed planning ensures a seamless refit process where multiple trades can engage in multiple elements concurrently without impacting each other’s works.

With facilities that can cater to yachts up to 46 metres in state-of-the-art sheds – and with a team that is as comfortable working on sailing superyachts as motoryachts – there’s no refit Holterman can’t do, and no solution it can’t develop. It’s why the iconic J Class sailing yacht Hanuman has chosen Holterman for an extensive refit programme starting in May 2024 that will cover all areas of the yacht, from new decks to paintworks, varnishing, technical refit elements and interior carpentry. It’s all in a day’s work for Holterman’s refit division.
