Few locations can match the glamour of Monaco, and when it comes to serious yachting the Monaco Yacht Show is the only place to be. Since its founding more than three decades ago, the show has grown to become what, simply put, is the epicentre of superyachting shows. Every year, more than 100 superyachts – from mainstream semi-series builds to extraordinary one-offs over 100 metres in length – crowd into Port Hercule, a natural amphitheatre overlooked by Monaco’s imposing skyline.
From the hints of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit infrastructure that is permanently present and the draw of the Hotel de Paris and the casinos in Monte Carlo to the serene palatial architecture of Le Rocher, Monaco is a vibrant meld of the sublime and the super-wealthy. For atmosphere and for the incredible yachts on display, there’s just nothing like it in the yacht show calendar – just as there’s nothing quite like a Holterman, which is why yachts such as our X-105 Lady Fleur have won multiple awards. It’s why we’re excited not only to be a part of the 2024 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, but also to be debuting our Xtreme X-78 Fly on the show’s hallowed quays.
As hull #2 of the X-78 series, the Fly is the first to feature the flybridge design, following the X-78 Sport which was first shown at the 2023 Hiswa te Water show in the Netherlands. The Fly builds on the aluminium hull and superstructure of the Sport and takes it literally to the next level with the addition of the perfect flybridge, coincidentally meeting the requirements of her owner who approached Holterman specifically to request a fly version of the Sport model. The result is a model made for Med cruising that combines striking looks with striking performance – top speeds are 28 knots with a 20-knot cruise from twin Volvo Penta IPS 1350s delivering 1,000 hp each (that’s equivalent two Bugatti Veyrons) – and striking interior space, with a vast full-beam master suite, a forward VIP and two guest ensuite doubles below.
It’s not just the genius of the design that makes the X-78 Fly the perfect fit for the Monaco Yacht Show – she is also the perfect embodiment of the exceptional craftsmanship, engineering, fit and finish that mark every Holterman that leaves the yard. Every one of our yachts is driven by the specific needs and requests of an owner, and is shaped by the 60 years of yachtbuilding heritage we carry and the owner feedback we gather. It makes Holterman rare among pocket superyacht builders in that we offer a level of detail and bespoke design – and legendary Dutch build quality of course – that is hard to find in this size bracket.
